Dr. Campbell is President of Synergy Health Partners, and co-founder of Synergy Health Partner’s legacy company, Synergy Surgicalists. A leading orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Campbell brings over 30 years’ experience in executive clinical leadership. Dr. Campbell was a founding partner of Bridger Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, where he was instrumental in growing to an 11-physician, 17-provider practice, and led the development of several ancillary departments, including MRI, as well as construction of a 40k square foot surgical facility. He has additionally served as president, chairman, and medical director for Rocky Mountain Medical Center Inc., and as clinical faculty member at the University of Utah. Dr. Campbell received his MD from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic residency at Carolinas Medical Center; Trauma Fellowship in Chur Switzerland; Sports Medicine Fellowship with Dr. John Feagin; and MBA from the University of Tennessee.
As founder of Synergy Health Partner’s legacy company, EA Health, Dr. Arthur L. Gruen is committed to providing coordinated ED staffing and call coverage solutions to hospitals, providers, and their patients. Dr. Gruen now serves as a Board Member of Synergy Health Partners. Dr. Gruen also currently serves as the Executive Medical Director of Emergency Services at Sharp Memorial Hospital and Sharp Coronado Hospital in San Diego. A graduate of Harvard University and Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. Gruen completed his clinical training in emergency medicine at Los Angeles County+USC Medical Center.
Dr. Schleusener is Chief Surgical Officer, and co-founder of Synergy Health Partner’s legacy company, Synergy Surgicalists. He is the former president of Black Hills Orthopedic and Spine Center located in Rapid City, South Dakota. A highly regarded orthopedic surgeon with a focus on spine surgery. Dr. Schleusener is a natural leader. He has taken care of patients in the emergency department for more than 20 years. This experience provides Dr. Schleusener with a unique understanding of the daily experience of a surgicalist. Dr. Schleusener graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1981 after a successful career on the Cornhusker football team. After completion of medical school at the University of Nebraska, he completed residency training in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, Texas. This was followed by a spine surgery fellowship at State University of New York Medical Center in Syracuse, New York. Dr. Schleusener served as an assistant professor in Orthopedics at the University of Utah Medical Center for five years before leaving Salt Lake for private practice. He received his MBA from the University of Tennessee Physician Executive MBA program.
Dr. Webster is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine and brings 25+ years of clinical and administrative experience to Synergy Health Partners. Prior to joining our team, he was executive vice president and regional CEO for a major healthcare management company, with direct responsibility for over $600M of emergency medicine, hospital medicine, anesthesia, radiology, and acute surgery business. He has served as chair and associate professor of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Midwestern University, chair of the Illinois Medical Disciplinary Board, member of the board of managers for a major healthcare joint venture, and medical director for numerous hospital emergency departments, ranging from a Level I Trauma Center to Critical Access facilities. Dr. Webster has lectured extensively in the areas of medical error reduction, EMTALA, biostatistics, and professional ethics, and has served as a medical expert in numerous medical liability and licensure cases.
Cathy McDowell brings over 20 years of clinical experience, including 15 years in hospital administration. She served as market vice president for HCA, leading orthopedic, spine, and cardiovascular service lines. Most recently, Cathy was part of the founding team for Synergy Health Partner’s legacy company, Synergy Surgicalists, and served as the company’s chief operating officer. Cathy is Lean Six Sigma trained and is responsible for business operations and comprehensive oversight of program implementation across Synergy Health Partners Surgicalist, Emergency Medicine , and Specialty On-call service lines. Working collaboratively with the Synergy Health Partners team, facility administration, and providers, Cathy’s leadership executes program implementation, consistent support, and assurance of the highest quality outcomes for patients, physicians, and hospitals.
Mr. Boggio oversees all business development activities for our team. His extensive experience in healthcare operations allows him to truly understand and address our potential clients’ desires and requirements with innovative and effective proposals, as well as ongoing relationship support. Frank embraces long-term hospital and health system client relationships with excellent executions as the path to ultimately serving patients with increased access to high-quality, compassionate healthcare. Prior to joining Synergy Health Partners, Frank served as vice president of business development for a major national healthcare management company with service lines in emergency medicine, hospital medicine, anesthesia, acute surgery, and radiology. He also served on the board of managers of a joint venture with a major hospital system.
Mr. Bertsch leads our Finance and Accounting team. Before joining Synergy Health Partners, Matt served in executive financial positions across industries, and has grown companies from thought through exit. Matt is a CPA and CGMA with over 20 years’ experience.
